I made this for you

Here I was all chirpy and happy thinking ‘Great! Only 5 entries, (one of whom was my Mum!) that means I can send something to everyone!’
This was until Otto came up to me, with a cheeky spark in his eye and said, with a mock-consoling hand on my shoulder, ‘Oh Ma. 5 entries? Are you cereal? Epic fail.’

Sheesh….it seems my loser giveaway has yielded such a tiny response, which according to my son is reason to scoff.
However, not one to worry to much about the glib speculation of 9 yr old and reverting back to my initial thoughts, I am happy to say that the 2 main winners are Amanda and Katherine (crowd goes wild!!!!!), but I’m sending the remaining 3 entrants a little something too.
Please everyone email me your addresses as soon as you can!
Except you Mum. I know where you live.

As a compassionate, empathetic person who is also a fiercely protective mother and wife, sister and daughter, I cannot fathom the thought of watching my family dying slowly around me, from lack of food. There are simply no words for the despair these people must be feeling. Continue reading “No words” »

I’ve written about my grandmother before and how crafty she but I’ve never told you that the craft genes going back, don’t end with her. Her mother, my great-grandmother who we have always fondly called Kookie, was very clever and creative with her hands too. I was lucky enough to receive this in the mail just the other day from Granny. I’d never seen it before and Granny had forgotten all about it until now. It’s a crocheted hot air balloon with 2, slightly disintegrating celluloid dolly’s with tiny sewn on capes, taking a wee ride. Continue reading “Up, up and crochet!” »

Here’s a sneak peek at the cross stitch I’ve been working on. I’ve been a long time fan of cross stitch and have been perfecting my stitching over the past year or so. In my spare time….snort. Continue reading “More custom orders…” »
