…..I am going to take out the braids and perhaps re-visit this look I cultivated circa 1980’s. I think there will be enough frizz, post plaits, to gather up into two huge pom-pom pigtails. Whaddya think?!
Also thanks to a little write up on Design Files last week (thanks Lucy!) I was overwhelmed with sales and orders. The great news is that I am happy being busy sewing, as anyone self-employed likes to have work and I do so love to sew.
The flip side is that I already have plenty of orders due because of the trip away and school holidays, so I am behind.
This week is all about cutting and sewing, ironing, wrapping and packing. I always feel for my family in times like this as the lounge/dining area turns into a sweatshop. I’m lucky though no-one minds, in fact the kids love picking up birds and making them dance and putting lego men into the baskets of the hot air balloons that hang from various hooks in the ceiling.
I loooong for a studio or some small space of my own, but in the meantime I feel grateful at least for the patience of Andy and the children.

Happy to be home but sooooo happy to have gone.
This week I’m gathering my thoughts, thinking about everything over and over…not quite sure how to put the words together or what I want to say about my trip just yet.
Besides it’s school holidays and the kids and I are pretty much spending this whole week wrapped around each other, also there are shops and customers waiting for orders and an invitation to be part of something really exciting, that despite being towards the end of the year, I have had a deadline to meet already…..
So yes. Home, happy and busy.
Back to proper posting next week.

This past week has included some serious family fun. My favorite kind. Sydney was fabulous, we stayed at the olde worlde Australia Hotel (so gorgeously rundown) with my Mama, Granny and 2 beautiful sisters. There was sun and theater (free tickets to opening night of The Threepenny Opera with Eddie Perfect (crush alert!) as Mack the Knife) and shopping and eating and drinking and and and….you get the picture! And if you don’t start scrolling down for some actual pictures. Continue reading “Ok, where to start?” »

I’m super busy filling orders, photographing new blankeys and balloons for my poor neglected etsy shop, working on my new mini range of patchwork letters/alphabet and looking very forward to pouring over these two books with the kidlets. Fun! Continue reading “This week…” »
