in Work

MadebymoseyBlog-1-4

Last week I went and had dinner with a friend of mine. Her name is Amber and in a previous post, I wrote that I had started working at her shop over Christmas. Dinner turned into abit of a new year proposal….more hours working in her shop. I was excited and still am! As much as I love my madebymosey work, a girls gotta eat and quite frankly Amber’s shop is a real little gem. She’s one of those shopkeepers who is totally keeping it real, trying her darndest to fill her store with local labels, handmade products, basically bits and pieces that have a link to Australian artists, designers, makers and crafters in some way.

My dilemma is of course will be juggling my family, personal work and now job work, something women find themselves confronted with more and more these days. I take comfort in knowing that I am not alone with all these balls in the air and feel super grateful for that. So I’m trying to keep it all in perspective and not complaining. Too much. Any suggestions however, would be very welcome!

Anyway back to Amber. My boss.
She is responsible for these gorgeous vintage squares of pure and utter loveliness. Thoughtful girl that she is, she was out op shopping and picked these up for me. I squealed with delight when I opened the bag because in my world, there are hankeys and then there are Hankeys. These are the latter. Linen, handrolled, embroidered and check out the packaging! The way they were folded in their boxes was akin to origami. I almost didn’t want to unwrap them, but I did and am thinking of turning them into these curtains I found over at Made Of Cloth. This is such a nifty and simple way to keep special hankeys.
Thankyou Amber, from stockist, to employer, to friend. Awww…..

To the greatest and most lovely staff member (and friend) on the planet – it is the very least I could do! You are worth twenty truckloads of those hankeys to me. xx
