Last week I was feeling very ho hum. Like all I could do was put one foot in front of the other. Lucky for me I have lovely friends, one in particular who saw me dragging me feet around town and decided a big bunch of bright orange flowers would be just the thing to cheer me up.
And I must say it really did help. Good friends and flowers have a habit of doing that. You just can’t help but sigh and smile and sigh again at their sheer loveliness. The flowers were accompanied with this super cute card. I lifted a petal and my fortune read ‘To have a Good Time’
Never one to disobey the words written behind a cardboard petal, I did just that. I had a good time. I painted at Coco’s tiny desk as though my life depended on it and Coco painted with her normal adorable gusto. We made potato stamps, collages, intricate pictures with the tiniest of strokes and great big sweeping monotone masterpieces. So very satisfying.

Strange how your idea of a good time changes once you have children?! I must say, at that very moment though, there was nothing better I could imagine doing and no other company I could imagine doing it with.

Aww no! But hooray for friends with orange flowers – they’re so pretty!
We all need a pick-me-up from time-to-time, and you’re lucky to have someone in your life who cares. It’s the little gestures that we always remember:) BTW, love that jar with the bees on it next to the flowers. Cute!
Hello! Newcomer to your blog and very much enjoying it. Two things though – your subscribe feed doesn’t appear to be working, and the link to your etsy store from the top right (under “hello”) isn’t jiving either.
Other than that, love your work. I’ll be back!
that is the sweetest fortune card i think i’ve seen. hope there is no longer a hum ho in your step.
