Last week I wrote about a couple of great op shopped 100% pure wool blankets I scored. Post washing them I discovered the blue one was quite abit holey. Not content to just patch up the holes and move on, I decided a little upcycling was in order.
I teamed little lengths of the blankets for the back with a mixture of vintage, remnant and opshop flannel on the front and made scarves for all the little people I know (and love very much!) I made 8 in total (and one teeensy tiny weeny one that is not pictured but I’ll fill you in more on that one later) and handed them out over the past couple of days. I felt like the Father Christmas of scarves or Oprah when ‘everyone in the audience get’s a car!’ Children don’t seem to feel the cold, but I feel the cold for them. Now their (my) problem is solved. Warm necks all round.
I also whipped up this little fellow for my dear and most darling little godson who loves owls and has a special second birthday coming up. Archie if you’re reading this, well you sure are advanced, but don’t forget to check the front of the owl…it’s a pocket and there may be a treat or two hiding inside!
Lastly more scenes from my sewing table. After a little free time for scarves and owls it’s back to orders and regular mosey programming…..

Cute little owl! He looks ever so dapper in orange.
I forgot to put in the orange choc chip biccie recipe that i used the grated rind of one whole orange, and i squeezed a bit of the juice in there aswell – but i did halve the recipe. So i guess if you’re doing the whole recipe taste test the mixture with one orange rind in it and then maybe add more orange juice, or more orange rind depending on how orangey you want it to taste
I hope that makes some sense…
The scarves are beautiful! How super stylish those children must look… honestly it doesn’t get much cooler than that. x
