ALL IN!

New_MBM_Home_ALLIN

I’m incredibly excited to be going live with my new range today! This one has been a long time coming but has been the one I’ve thought hardest about. The result is a mix of decorative fabric products in strong punchy brights and bold black and white contrast. Cushions, garlands, diamonds and blankets all united by a common geometric aesthetic. I know a lot of you have been watching the

Arrow

New_MBM_HomeFeature_10

These plush arrows came about after Coco asked me to whip her one up to cuddle one evening. Go figure. Her version is much different to the final version and I must admit it took a little while to get these ‘just so’. One minute I was minding my own business and the next I was filling the studio in an arrow-induced frenzy but none of the shapes and sizes

Fruit Cushions

MBM_ALL_IN_05

With an insatiable need to patchwork any and everything, I decided one day that fruit was on the hit list. I’d already dabbled in plush pineapples, but after some thought I knew I had an apple, pear, strawberry, watermelon and banana hiding somewhere inside of me. After patch-working up a strawberry for a friend that had just had a baby girl, I got cracking on the fruit bowl. However halfway

MADE BY MOSEY X OUCHFLOWER X FABLE FOLK

New_MBM_HomeFeature_08

Pippa, Estelle and I have been plotting and hatching this little craft collab for sometime now and I can finally and happily say that we have brought our individual talents together to create a super limited range of products now available in the shop! We met via instagram where all good connections are made and after admiring both their work for sometime I finally took the plunge and contacted them

Balls

MBM_HankeyBalls_3

When it comes to my top twenty frustrations, computers are high on the list. This may come as a no surprise to people who know how utterly hopeless I am on one and the phrase ‘conquer your fears’ has be offered up a number of times to counter the look of sheer panic that crosses my face whenever the ‘c’ word is mentioned. I know this fear and frustration comes

Update

MBM_DreamerRainbow_x

The shop has finally been updated*. Phew. I’d like to act as though it was no big thing, but it was, IT WAS. It takes time and patience and a gentle touch shooting mobiles. Case in point; Andy captured my magic voodoo hands above trying to still the Rainbow Dreamer feathers and then slowly back out of shot. It’s a process I tells ya.

Limbo

Product13_0002

I was pondering success the other day. Sitting in my very own studio, doing what I loved, being able to be at arms length from the kids and work around them made me feel like mosey was in a really good place, I felt happy, balanced and pretty darn successful.

Tiny

MBM_MiniDreamer_Red

You may or may not have noticed in the excitement of the cushions, that I’ve been making teeny weeny tiny Dreamer mobiles. So cuuute! Er, if I do say so myself….

Cushions!

New_MBM_HomeFeature_06

Ok these babies have been a long time coming. But enough about why they have taken so long (children/life/busy husband/crazy feather-making/etc) let’s just be glad they are here shall we.

Choosing colours

pantone_0003

I am getting a wee bit excited about my Hankey cushions. They are coming people, they are coming! I had planned to screen print them with my dear friends who have a printing business but they wisely advised that digital printing would be the way to go for what I wanted to do. So where to from there? Directly to Melbourne’s best and loveliest digital printing studio, Frankie and Swiss.

Studio lately

IMG_3826_0001

Fun times at the studio this week. After sending off a bunch of orders last week, I vowed to start getting my studio in order as of Monday. I’ve been working non-stop since I moved in and its ramshackled state was making me feel a bit cuckoo. I have two adjoining rooms, one where my work table and straining shelves of fabric sit and the other, a spare room of

Dreamer

MBM_JUNE2012_0094

I decided to push those feathers further this weekend. After both Cass and Andy suggested a mobile, (and these creative types sure do know a thing or two about good design) I went to work making something a little more ethereal than my usual style. And this is it! The Dreamer.

Feather

Feathers_0749

I always forget to take photos of the things I’m making because I work so solidly on my child-free days and always up to the last minute that I don’t have time for anything by the afternoon except packing it all up so that there is space in our living room. Sux. But finally FINALLY I have a new studio! I get the keys very soon and then it will

Wah

8_0221

As I get older, (I’m 34…where my cane at ya’ll?) I’m realizing more and more about my self. You would imagine this would to be expected, but I’m a slow learner. I’m realising that I need to sew and create in a way that even I can’t understand. It’s a pull that I have never had with any other thing before. It keeps me up at night. Literally keeps me
