Hooray!
For a while there I didn’t think this day would ever come. This day of unveiling my new website in all its fancy glory.
Andy and I are such a team and I couldn’t have done any of it without his patience, clever designer-ish eye and general tech know-how. Plus a HUGE helping hand from his mate Zann.I am clueless when it comes to these things, in fact bad things seem to happen anytime I go near a computer so to just handball the job over has been a real treat. It has allowed me to focus on sewing, developing all my new bits and pieces and basically preparing for a cracker next few months.
Being away from the computer over the past few weeks has made me realise how much I’ve missed it here. It’s been nice to take a break and get on with life camera and virtually internet free but I’ve missed blogs and blogging and I hope to get back into the swing of things sooner rather than later.
Being in my studio has also given me a chance to think about what I want from this business I’m making. On many quiet studio days, in between talk-back on the radio and audiobooks, I’ve thought long and hard and I think for the time being I’m happiest making small runs of things. I guess when you are a one woman show this is inevitable but this suits me just fine. For example, I’ve always bought small amounts of fabric, knowing that when it runs out, tracking it down again isn’t what I want to do. I think this makes it special for you and keeps it interesting for me too. Any excuse to shop for fabric really. The fabrics used to make the cloud mobile have changed many times over and even though the colours stay the same, each time a blue fabric comes to an end I say a fond farewell and hunt for anther match to join the family. Using vintage fabrics has the same timeline too and that makes working with it all the more special.
I can’t imagine changing the way things are just now. Admittedly I still want an employee (that I can’t yet afford to pay actual real money too so maybe more of a sucker than an employee) for all those jobs that take me away from sewing and therefore I do begrudgingly. But if that doesn’t happen for a while I’ll cope. I have become far more efficient since moving off the dining room table. Funny about that right?!
So take a look around, I’d love to know what you think. Especially if there are any problems/buttons that don’t work/things like that.
Although you’d better wash your hands first. It’s pretty shiny and clean around here. ThanksverymuchfancypantsAndy.

Can’t take all the glory here. Thanks to Zann St Pierre (http://zann.com.au/) for the development.
